Today was another beautiful 80 degree sunny experience in New Orleans. We got up and going to the local zoo run by the Audobon society. A big bonus was meeting up with a third Coast Guard spouse, Karen, and her daughter for the adventure.
The zoo was a bit of a zoo due to the school groups in attendance. We found a nice place out of the way to have picnic lunch and relax between animal viewings. The biggest hit by far was the white alligator. Quenton got to ride a model version of said same gator on the carousel later in the afternoon.
After a hot zoo day there is nothing better than a good bowl of ice cream. Our friends took us to Creole Creamery in the Garden District. The ice cream was superb and the flavors are unique. I had Magnolia Flower and Champagne, Quenton had Chocolate Pecan Pie and Corton Candy. Yum.
Back to the house for some take out pizza and a quiet night after a great day. One more day of our NOLA adventure to come.
Great pics, have a fabulous time
